I studied biology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and followed it with a master’s in biological anthropology, specialising in genetics and cardiovascular disease — specifically, the role of mitochondrial DNA variation in stroke risk, using next-generation sequencing. Later I joined the Group of Mutagenesis at UAB, where I contributed to research on the effects of polystyrene nanoplastics on human endothelial cells. That work was published in a peer-reviewed journal. I know what a manuscript looks like from the inside.
The move to scientific writing was not a departure from research — it was a recognition that the gap between what a study says and what gets communicated is one of the most consequential problems in science. A well-designed study with a poorly written paper gets ignored. A poorly evidenced claim in a well-written product description reaches millions. Both failures are avoidable.
At Iridis I lead publication support and scientific content. I work directly with researchers, biotech teams, and medical communications projects. My role is to ensure that the structure of an argument — the hierarchy of evidence, the framing of the discussion, the logic connecting claim to data — is doing the work it should.
I am also the public face of the company and distribute editorial content through my personal LinkedIn, where I write about scientific communication, evidence standards, and what good science writing actually looks like in practice.
